I wrote a post recently talking about how bad I was at remembering to get the oil changed. I know that my post on Motor Oil Matters pretty much described me as a ditzy person who doesn’t care about their car but I do. I really love my car. I love that it reminds me to get maintenance. I love that it tells me everything I need to do for it. For instance, I was about to go to Maryland and my car needed an oil change. Unfortunately I got so busy packing and doing stuff around the house that I forgot about it. So it was weeks after I returned from my trip before I got another chance to get my oil change and I was down to 10 percent according to my maintenance meter. And it had a bunch of numbers I didn’t know what they meant. The mechanic wasn’t sure either so I dont feel too bad.
Be sure to check out this pdf checklist for your next oil change and keep up with the maintenance on your car! It has tons of great information you need to make sure you are doing what is best for your car.
I know now after reading the awesome checklist I posted before from Motor Oil Matters that having a good oil is very important and it should meet the API standards. I know that there isn’t a MOM approved service center near me so I told my local station about it and they said they would look into it. I brought my checklist with me to show the guys there. I always make sure I get a new filter on my bill and I always make sure they use the high mileage oil.
