Keeping Kids Busy and Entertained Kids of all ages get bored when they are not given some new or exciting activity to pursue. This is especially true for elementary school children. They do not have the means or knowledge to travel anywhere safely without a parent towing them along to an excursion. During the summer time the days are long and sometimes boring. There is no schoolwork that needs to be done or schedules to keep. It is so hard to find new ways of keeping kids busy this summer. Affordable day trips are a way to keep the kids entertained. One choice that the younger kids seem to like is a trip to the  local zoo. Several … [Read more...]

Getting Rid of Germs with safeHands

safehands-classic2

As a parent, I'm always looking out when my kids go outside to play, and touch different objects.  Germs are everywhere, and I want to be sure that my child is as safe as can be. My two year old has an immune deficiency so its really tough on us since he is sick all the time.  I try to keep him safe from all the nasty germs that I can. It's always nice to have an antibacterial hand wash on hand when we're on the go, or even at home.  It's always nice to find new products to try out and find new go-to items.  I reviewed SafeHands and SafeSquirts soothing alcohol free sanitizers.  They're great for every day use.  The SafeHands is a … [Read more...]

Sleeping Well with our Minky Couture Blanket

minky

If you have children, I'm sure that at least one of them has a "lovey," whether it be a blanket, stuffed animal, or some other well loved toy, that they carry around with them, day after day, and they refuse to let you wash them, or even take them away without some sort of tantrum.  My 11 year old had a stuffed bear. He loved that bear and called it Pokey. It is still on his bed and has lost all of his stuffing because of how often my son slept with it and played with it. If you haven't found your children's "lovey," I think I may have found something that they'll enjoy. Minky Couture was started in 2009, by Sandi Henry.  She started … [Read more...]

Stay-Dry Bath Apron & Towel Review

2094898

I think the hardest thing I had to learn how to do when I had my first child was give him a bath.  Not that first bath where you use a bowl of water and quickly flap a towel open and closed on your baby while you wipe them down but a real, after the umbilical cord is gone, bath.  I was so worried about him getting too wet or too much baby shampoo or mad at me.  I actually used to just hold him after his baths wrapped up in a towel and breastfeed him because I had gotten him so upset during the bath that he was blood red screaming.  I regret to say that I havent gotten any better.  Or rather, none of my children have.  They all hate … [Read more...]

Li’l Helper Bottle Holder Review

lilhelper

Now that I am feeling better and haven't been so sick, I have been giving my new products that I received for my New Baby Gift Guide a try.  The Li'l Helper is a very cool new product that was made by a real dad.  It is not meant to replace mom or meant for you to leave your baby unattended but just to help mom out.  I know that I have been sitting at the computer trying to work while also trying to hold Elijah and nurse. This would have came in handy for me so that I could finally PUT HIM DOWN.  I swear the first few months of nursing I never put him down at all. Obviously I don't have a baby yet to try this awesome product out.  … [Read more...]

I am sure everyone in the world knows that I am pregnant by now.  I will be 39 weeks tomorrow and I am as big as a house.  Due to my husband and I not finding out the gender of the baby we haven't had a baby shower. However, we realized we had nothing for the new baby because I passed all of our older son's stuff down to my nephew when he was born and my sister passed all that stuff down to her sister-in-law when her son was born.  So here we are days before the new baby and we have nothing planned. We are having a shower this weekend for the little things. People in my family have been complaining from week 20 when we told them we … [Read more...]
